1st Water Council of Turkey
Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Akif Özkaldı evaluated the 1st Water Council to be organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Stating that the importance of water has emerged again with the drought and the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic, Özkaldı said that the issue of water has been discussed in other councils before, but a council that is evaluated independently from all aspects will be organized by the Ministry for the first time.
Özkaldı pointed out that Turkey is not a water-rich country and said that the country has self-sufficient resources when used effectively and efficiently.
He stated that approximately 77 percent of the water in Turkey is used in agriculture, while the remaining 23 percent is used for drinking, domestic and industrial purposes.
